Aruba Sights

Aruba is a lovely island with beautiful scenery, natural attractions and several monuments worth seeing. The tranquil ocean, the beautiful trees, the greenery, the caves and several other historical sites are a treat to the eyes.

Alto Vista chapel
The Alto Vista chapel was established more than 250 years ago, is also called the pilgrim%27s church and is situated on a cliff overlooking the sea. There is a small winding road that leads to the chapel having small white crosses marking the stations of the cross.

Aruba Numismatic coin
If you are an ardent coin collector this is one place you would not want to miss. The museum was established by Mario Odor and has a collection of over 40,000 pieces from over 400 countries you will be thrilled to see this fascinating collection.

In the mid 19th century several gold mines were built throughout the country side. One such mine is the Bushiribana whose remains are still clearly visible.

California Lighthouse
This monument built in 1910 is worth seeing especially for the beautiful scenery.

It is named after the ship California which ignored the warnings of the Titanic and sunk near the lighthouse.

Fort Zoutman and Willem III Tower
This fort built in 1796 houses the historical museum of Aruba with ancient Indian artifacts through Dutch and Spanish colonialism. The Willem III tower houses the first public clock of Aruba and also served as a lighthouse.

Bubali Bird Sanctuary
This beautiful bird sanctuary is home to more than 80 species of migratory birds which include egrets, herons, skimmers, coots, gulls, several species of cormorants and more. An observation tower has also been erected so that bird watchers can have a good look at their favorite birds.

If you desire a hair rising experience try some of the caves in Aruba.

You can explore the dark chambers with mysterious rock drawings, some caves have drawings of the Arawak Indians, you can also see several harmless bats if you explore deeper. Stalagmites and Stalactites are nature’s very own architecture and truly are great to behold.
